Timeline

Here is a timeline depicting the events leading up to the film, some background information about their world to put the story into context.

2028 – Ollie born.

2030 – Red warning issued about the state of the honeybee population decline.

2034 – Emma born.

2035 – The last of the bees die out.

2035 – Man-made food companies business booms.

2036 – Society goes into a state of panic, riots start, people bulk buy food, all rationality  

is starting to fade.

2036 – People begin to get sick from malnutrition and lack of medical help. It is named

“The Affliction” by the people.

2037 – The Government issue ration books to try and control the situation.

2038 – Educational system collapses.

2039 – The man-made food companies start to run out of supplies to make food.

2040 – The police force and army begin to decline in numbers.

2042 – Mark and his family move away

2046 – Marie Edwards falls sick.

2047 – Marie Edwards dies of The Affliction.

2047 – Jacob Edwards commits suicide.

2049 – Emma falls really ill.

2050 – Ollie sets out on his journey (film is set)
